The R8 is a compact 30 ton pipe bursting system that can replace pipes from 1″ – 8″ in diameter.
The R8 Busting System slides apart into two components (70 lbs & 70 lbs) for easy set-up and can be used vertically or horizontally. All units come with your company name / logo engraved on the red drop guard.
OPERATORS CHOICE: Wireless or Manual Hydra Controller
Due to its size and weight, the R8 can be setup in confined spaces such as basements, crawl spaces, man holes, septic tanks, and even under decks when set horizontally. It is capable of producing 30 tons of pulling force at 3,000 psi. The R8 can be hydraulically powered from a tractor or power unit. When dealing with soft soils, the 24″ x 24″ aluminum resistance plate can aid in distributing the load across the face of the chassis.

The Hydra Control is a wireless control system for the R-8 Bursting Machine.
It can be connected up to any hydraulic source with 3,000psi.
Comes with 75 feet total of jacketed pressure and return hose with quick disconnects.
The Hydra Control is battery powered eliminating the need to run power cables to the excavator. It also features an integrated charging system for the battery that plugs into any AC 120V supply, and a battery meter to let you know when it needs charging.

Cables come in two stock lengths with custom lengths available upon request.

Utilizing an articulated pipe bursting head design, our heads provide you with the ability to navigate up to three 45 degree bends in a single pull without the oval damage to the PE product pipe.
This design allows the ability to enter the old host pipe neutrally, reducing the wrestling match with the pipe that often comes in tight quarters as well as distortion to the entry hole. It also eliminates the need to have to dig under and push down the newly installed PE pipe before you can make the connection to the existing pipe at the entry pit.
Made from high grade tool steel.
All of our bursting heads are heat treated to a very high Rockwell hardness for reduced abrasion, wear, and pulling pressures.

Locking device
The split lock bursting heads have replaceable blades and patented articulating point behind the bursting head. The split lock cable locking device insures the cable will never pull out of the head during the bursting process.
The product pipe locking device is attached and removed from the bursting head with a clevis pin. Once removed from the head, it can be attached and locked to the new product pipe by turning the eyelet, with no need of cutting the pipe.
